ARGENTINA TIP BY FLORIS

  • Bring plenty of euro’s or US dollars. In Argentina there is an official and unofficial currency rate. Officially 1 euro is worth about 10 peso, but unofficially 1 euro is worth more than 17 peso, which is 70% profit! You can find ‘cambio’ on the street (people will approach you) and here you can exchange your euro’s or USD’s. An example: an original soccer t-shirt is about 750 peso, which is about 70 euro and the same price as in the Netherlands. However, when you exchange your euro’s or USD’s via the unofficial way, the same shirt is about 40 euro’s. This way Argentina becomes much cheaper.
  • Argentina became more expensive for me, because I bought all my souvenirs here. In Peru and Bolivia the same gifts would have probably been much cheaper.

Floris also kept his expenses for Peru, Bolivia and Chili! Find the costs of his total 58-day South America trip here.

Jannet and her boyfriend Ralf also traveled in Argentina and visited Torres del Paine and Iguazu. Find out how much money they spent here!

Have you been to Argentina? Can you relate to these travel costs?

  1. Oh dat valt me best wel tegen.. mmm wij willen misschien volgend jaar naar Argentine maar even rekening houden in budget want we zouden wel luxer reizen.
